Having completed an English degree and the Fine and Decorative Arts course at Christie’s, I joined AXA Art in 1982 as a surveyor. During my time at AXA I held a variety of positions including business development, marketing and sponsorship and started and ran their global sponsorship programme for TEFAF Maastricht.
I moved on to XL in 2005 and then in 2008 started the Fine Art and Heritage Department at Ecclesiastical Insurance. I joined Hallett Independent with a brief to develop Art, Heritage and Museum business in December 2016.
I am an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, I graduated from Birkbeck with a degree in art history in 2000 and completed the Attingham Trust summer school in 2015. I am particularly interested in 18th Century and Modern British pictures. I was a Trustee of Gainsborough’s House Museum for 10 years and am an Omega member of Charleston as well as a friend and member of various other art organisations. I have written and lectured widely on art and heritage insurance.
